Software giant CA Inc. has ended its sponsorship with the PGA Tour leaving the tour's World Golf Championship at Doral without its main financial backer.
PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said he was hopeful a new sponsor would be found so the event, which was won by Ernie Els on Sunday, would remain in Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami.
New York-based CA had been the tournament's main sponsor for the last four years and spokesman Bill Hughes said the firm wants to continue to sponsor golf events in the future.
