The DC Creates Public Arts Program and the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities hold an event in collaboration with the Washington Nationals Baseball Club to unveil white-bronze sculptures commemorating three baseball legends, at the Nationals Park Center Field Plaza in Washington DC, USA, 08 April 2009. Joshua Gibson, depicted in the sculpture on the left, was a catcher in baseballs 'Negro Leagues', playing for the Homestead Grays in the 1930s and 1940s. Frank Oliver Howard, depicted in the sculpture on the right, played for the Washington Senators from 1965 to 1971 and is considered one of the greatest hitters in baseball history
